Who better than our beloved restaurant worker Jayne to give us the scoop on the restaurant scene in metro Phoenix?
Check out my blog to view regular updates. Here are a few of my, I mean Jayne's favorites.
Amaro Italiano Ristorante
I dined in this restaurant in north Phoenix twice. The first time, my partner and I dined with another couple and the second time I went with my writing critique group.
The menu promises a lovely dinner but judging by the lack of patrons I wondered what they would deliver. As a former restaurant worker myself, there are some telltale signs as soon as you walk in an establishment.
In this case the hostess was untrained, then the bar staff was untrained and finally the waitstaff was untrained. If the food had fabulous it would be been worth it but I'm sorry to say that I've had much better.
I'm sorry to say I doubt this place will last through this year.
L'Auberge de Sedona
Fabulous Brunch with even better Views. Take a beautiful ride north of Phoenix to Sedona and enjoy dining creekside. Named on of the Top Ten Restaurants in the Southwest by Conde Nast Traveler it's hard to decide what is more enjoyable the dining or the atmosphere. This is truly a case of location, location, location.
I recently enjoyed a Sunday Brunch at a table with Oak Creek rushing by. Brunch, although pricey at $54 per person there was a nice variety and unlimited Mimosas!
As a special occasion or splurge it's worth the drive but there are a number of wonderful brunch destinations within the Valley.
If you are looking for a date night restaurant, with excellent service and food, this is the place. Located in the City North shopping center in Phoenix this is a small place but consistently delivers. I don't think Jayne would be able to make it here!
You can never go wrong for lunch or dinner at this chain restaurant. Coming in very close with a similar format is White Chocolate Grill at Scottsdale Road & Mayo. White chocolate? What more needs to be said?
The Breakfast Club
In Old Town Scottsdale you better arrive early to get breakfast at The Breakfast Club. Yum and more yum.
